Maintenance and cleaning

Optoglas requires no special maintenance. When cleaning the window, unscrew the casement stay and then open the secondary pane to clean inside.

We do, however, recommend cleaning in calm weather conditions. Even though Optoglas is made of heat-treated glass, damage can happen. If the glass does break, the heat treatment will ensure that it shatters into many pieces that are not sharp.

Procedure

  • Unscrew the casement stay. This will release the heat-treated pane, which can be removed from the frame.
  • It is a good idea to open both window frame and secondary pane outwards at the same time.
